I am a clean eater usually but I will break my rule to try a new flavor of ice cream. These are my favorite places in Orange County.
I’m pretty sure Honeymee was born in Los Angeles but there are a few locations in Orange County. When this first opened near my house I was there almost every day. People complain about it because of it’s price relative to size but I think it’s the perfect size for a dessert. It’s satisfying without making you completely hate yourself. It’s simplicity is what makes it great. Milk ice cream with honey drizzled on top. Simple.
Usually when people put honey on ice cream it gets kinda hard and chewy but Honeymee avoids this somehow. I’m not sure if the ice cream is warmer or the honey is special in some way but it stays nice and soft. I’ve also tried all their shakes (my favorites are peach, milk and salted caramel).
If you go.. get a sweetie vs a honeymee. The honeycomb is pretty but not edible.
I’m not impressed by most nitro ice cream crap, but this is really good. They can make your ice cream look like a flower.. and the puffle waffle cone thing is supposed to be a big deal, but honestly the best part is the ice cream itself. They have some great interesting flavors like rose water and earl grey. The flagship “cauldron” flavor is really great too. It’s a mixture of vanilla and cinnamon with oreo bits. If you can stomach all the people taking pictures of their ice cream this place is worth it.
